Both Lakeside Amusement Park and its historic carousel celebrate their 100th birthdays this year. As with so many historic carousels, the origin of this ride seems uncertain. It seems equally uncertain whether the ride debuted at the park in 1908 or elsewhere, moving to the park at a later date.

When a small group of investors bought the shuttered Maggie Valley amusement park three years ago, little did they know the extent of structural problems they would soon uncover. It was no secret that Ghost Town, built in 1962, had fallen into disrepair due to lack of upkeep. But investors maintain that the scope of problems was far more vast than anyone thought.
Six Flags Over Georgia's PTC #17 Carousel Turns 100
There are some fantastic carousels celebrating their centennial seasons this year and PTC #17 Riverview Carousel now at Six Flags Over Georgia is certainly no exception.
