Six Flags Over Georgia Announces Dare Devil Dive for 2011
Attention all daredevils, the Southeast's largest theme park Six Flags Over Georgia, is proud to announce a unique new roller coaster for the 2011 season. DARE DEVIL DIVE will be the park's first "euro fighter" coaster, which features a rare ten story vertical lift and the country's first drop that dives beyond vertical as it plummets towards earth.
Six Flags Magic Mountain Makes Management Change
Jay Thomas is leaving his position as park president of Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor for a position at the company’s corporate office in Dallas, the Valencia-based theme park announced. Bonnie Rabjohn is immediately replacing Thomas, who was named park president in September 2007 and has worked at other Six Flags theme parks in the past. He has about 22 years of experience working with theme parks and 15 years of experience in executive roles.
Wonderland Gives New Meaning to "HIGH" Intensity with WindSeeker
Canada's Wonderland takes excitement to new heights in 2011, with the addition of WindSeeker - a 30-storey swing ride. Towering high above the Park, WindSeeker will ascend 301 feet (91.7M) and spread its metal arms, swinging riders at a 45-degree angle at speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour. WindSeeker will feature 32 two-person swings that will provide riders with a sensational feeling of weightlessness as their feet dangle at heights never experienced before at Wonderland.
WindSeeker thrill ride to alter Knott’s Berry Farm skyline in 2011
The 301-foot-tall WindSeeker promises to change Knott’s Berry Farm’s skyline when the spinning swing ride debuts at the Buena Park theme park in 2011. WindSeeker will carry 64 riders in twin-seat gondolas to the top of the tower, where the ride’s metal arms will extend out at a 45-degree angle and spin for one minute at 30 mph.
New Cedar Point ride's patent being disputed
Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky had intricate plans to use the social media site Facebook as the place next week to unveil its newest ride for 2011. But now it appears that an Australian ride manufacturer has revealed it in a patent dispute over its version of a towering thrill ride it calls StarFlyer and a Dutch competitor's version called Wind Seeker.
