Alton Towers taken to court over theme park noise once again
Due to the parks close proximity to other neighborhoods, local residents of Staffordshire have had a long legal dispute over the noise that stems from the theme park.

The start of the legal battle dates back to 2002, with their claim being thrown out in January of 2011; however, a judge recently overturned that decision, bringing life back into a legal battle that Alton Towers owner, the Tussauds group, hoped to be long gone.

Possible consequences for Alton Towers if they lose the battle is the relocation or closure of certain attractions.

Bullet trains stop short of Anaheim in new plan
For years, the idea of a high-speed rail system in California has been sold as a line that would whisk passengers from the San Francisco Bay Area to the resort area of Anaheim. But now it appears that line will stop short of the Disneyland area, ending instead in Los Angeles – at least in the first phase, according to new plans released by the California High Speed Rail authority this week.

2 Injured on Carnival Ride at Bremen's Easter Volksfest
Two riders were injured Sunday afternoon on the "Commander" ride at a volkfest in Bremen, Germany. The accident occured Sonday afternoon at approx. 2:35pm CET as one of the "Commander's" gondolas became almost completely detached at full speed, with only a small piece of metal preventing it from seperating completely. The gondola colided with the floor of the attraction twice before the ride operator was able to hit the emergency stop switch.

Atlantic City Amusement parks pour millions into rides to impress visitors this season
Each year, 3 million people make their way to Morey’s Piers in Wildwood and North Wildwood, and most of them will spend time screaming on roller coasters or racing family and friends in go-karts. In a bid to get more visitors to spend time in its water parks, Morey’s is transforming an old attraction into a new one, called River Adventure. The change is among $6 million in improvements the pier is making this year, said Jack Morey, vice president of the company.
