Hypersonic XLC Can you Imagine Being shot out of a gun? Well, S&S Power, of Logan, Utah, Give you probally the closest feeling to that. Makers of rides such as the Big Shot, Located on top of the Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas, or Supreme Scream and Knott's Berry Farm, but this Folks, is there first COASTER. Paramount's Kings Dominion, located in Doswell, VA, Just 20 miles north of richmond, has recieved many coasters over the past, From Grizzly, an Exciting Adventure through the Old Back woods of PKD, to Volcano,The first LIM Launched Inverted Coaster, Which shoots you out of a raging volcano, This coaster makes them look like Kiddie Rides. The Hypersonic XLC(Xtreme Launch Coaster)is located in the Grove Section of the park. A Blast of Compressed air is all it needs,to accelerate the rides Very Unusal, but Awesome trains,0-80 m.p.h in 1.8 seconds!(Now you know why its the Xtreme Launch Coaster!)I was traveling down the highway,when the Eiffel Tower(PKD's Landmark)was visible. We turned off I-95. We pass some places, and rides like Volcano, and The Xtreme Skyflyer are visible, and in front of the Xtreme Skyflyer, is where it stands. The Hypersonic XLC which I have been waiting so Long to ride, was in front of my eyes, I actually saw it in person, my 9 Months of waiting, and there it stands. I anxiously Told my Parents to speed up, because I had to ride, and Had to go to the Bathroom ;). We payed our parking fee, and parked as far as we could. Me and my Father acted out the First ones at Wally World act,to pay for admission.We got in,And yes,before i rode it,i had to go,so I went to the Bathroom, and we were off.Passing the Eiffel Tower,we choosed the Path Which leads you to shockwave,or the one by Nickelodeon Space Surfer,to find the Gates had not yet been open,It was good,since if they had,we had to wait A LONG time for the XLC. At about 10:30 am,The Gates were open,just to find out,Everyone had to be ESCORTED to Hypersonic.After passing the carousel, me and many others decided to Sprint,while tons were already at the XLC.The Queue was not yet open,so i was right by the Vertical Drop,and soon they were testing trains.It is very cool when the car goes down vertically,and you are under it, as it looks like the car is gonna splat you like a bug.It was maybe 10:50 when the queue opened,and at exactly 10:54 the first train with people launched.The line wasent long from our point,but due to capacity it was.we waited about 1 hour and 15 minutes,but i wasent complaining,as waiting is part of the experience. We were getting close to the station,and I was thinking of my coaster Pumping Music(P.O.D School of Hard Knocks for anyone who wantes to know :) )We made it in the station,while we watched some Nervous People get on the ride,and Shaking people Getting off.I was saying "OH MY GOD,WHAT AM I DOING?" as im sure spectators are saying "What are those Insane People doing?".My Chariot was Unloaded,and I sat in the comfortable S&S Seats.I pulled my harness,which puts you in at the Waist, Knees,and Feet.I was thinking,This is real comfortable aint it?I mean,they strap you in at the Feet for God Sakes!We made a turn to the Left.The train stopped over people in line,as the train was being Weighed RED YELLOW GREEN! 0-80 in 1.8 Seconds!It feels like your skin is ripping off your face as you now Climb 165 feet in the air,Straight Up! Over the crest,Which in my opinion gives AWESOME air-time,even w/ restraints all over.Now we head straight down,which while Spectating it,It doesnt look like a long time straight down,But trust me,when you ride,it feels like you go straight down a long time.As we are done with our drop,we make a Long turn to the left,the to the right,and our Picture is snapped.Up a tiny bit,Which also to me delievers alotta air time.going down you hear the brakes as loud as brakes probally get. Brakes and you say "I NEED A DRINK!"as this ride takes your breath away. You'll know its worth the line when your done. Overall this coaster,is Amazing,and is tied for my favorite coaster against Nitro(Six Flags Great Adventure).If this is a Prototype,Then Only God Knows what S&S has instore for a full scale Model.
