Park Name: Aetna Village Group Name: AeroLost Coasters Description:
Aetna. Greek for "to violently burn". Exactly 16,000 years ago, Mt Etna, on the island of Sicily, erupted one huge show. Three times the size of Mt Vesuvius just north, the volcano poured pyroclastic material throughout the entire town of Catania, burying the village with ash and stones. Recently, a group of Mt Etna historians decided to build a tourist center on the site and throughout the Mt Etna vicinity. The tourist center consists of a high-action roller coaster ride that journeys in and around Mt Etna, the excavated town of Catania, and Mongibello, a nearby moutain with several grand waterfalls. Additionally, there is a trail that meanders around the abandoned town of Catania. This trail is by foot, however. Watch out however, as the volcano is soon to erupt yet again. The steam at the pinnacle has started, and volcanologists are not wasting a second, with their equiptment monitoring the underground action. But that won't be for a couple more months! So fasten the seatbelt in your Smart Car, and journey to Etna Escape!
