Six Flags New England has only been a Six
Flags-owned park for 4 years. The park was previously called Riverside
Amusement Park, where it owned and operated several attractions,
including the park's first Roller Coaster, Thunderbolt, which was
built in 1941. The park was bought out by Six Flags and renamed
New England, and several new rides were put in, including the famous
Hyper coaster, Superman: Ride of Steel.
