Silver Dollar City opened in 1960 when Branson, MO was a relativley
small area. The park featured a train ride, several shows,
and an underground cave tour which is still in operation today.
Over the years, the park was transformed into a frontier-themed
area with shops and attractions inspired by the 19th century
westard movement in America. Since that time, new rides like
Thunderation, Lost River of the Ozarks, and Wildfire were
added as the park's white-knuckle thrills.
