Geauga Lake opened in 1888 as a small family
Amusement Park. The park expanded over the years with various midway
games and small attractions. The addition of the Big Dipper coaster
in 1926 was among one of these expansions. Over the years, theme
park companies overthrew the park's management, including a short-lived
Six Flags (Six Flags Worlds of Adventure) name change in 2000. The
park is currently owned and operated by Cedar Fair, and its name
(as well as many of the copyrited coaster names) have all been changed.
